PERCENTAGE//CALCULATOR

Terms of use

The site is free and you are welcome to it. These are the conditions that come with that, written to be read rather than to be skipped.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

By using percentagecalculator.tools (“the site”), operated by The Idea Works, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

The site is free to use

You may use the calculators and read the guides for personal or commercial purposes at no charge, with no account and no attribution required. Use the answers in your invoices, your homework, your spreadsheets, your pricing — that is what they are for.

Accuracy, and its limits

We take the arithmetic seriously. Every formula is covered by automated tests, each tool page publishes the formula it uses, and errors are fixed promptly when found. Even so, the site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.

This matters most where the numbers do: nothing on this site is financial, tax, accounting, legal or professional advice. A tax calculator is a piece of arithmetic, not a tax return. Rates and rules vary by country and change over time. For decisions that carry real consequences — filing, pricing, contracts, anything with a regulator attached — check the result and consult someone qualified. You are responsible for verifying any figure before you rely on it.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Idea Works is not liable for any loss or damage — including lost profit, lost revenue, or indirect or consequential loss — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site, or from reliance on any figure it produces. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, in which case the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted there. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under consumer law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting infrastructure;
  • scrape or republish the site's written content wholesale, or present it as your own;
  • use the site in a way that breaks any applicable law, or that interferes with anyone else's use of it.

Ordinary automated access — search engine crawling, accessibility tooling, a reasonable script — is fine and welcome.

Intellectual property

The site's written guides, design, layout, code and branding are the property of The Idea Works and are protected by copyright. You may link to any page freely, and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce substantial portions of the written content without permission.

Mathematical formulas themselves are not owned by anyone, least of all us. The formula for a percentage increase belongs to the world; use it however you like.

Advertising and third-party links

The site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense, and it links to external sites in some guides. We do not control advertisers or third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, products or practices. A link or an ad is not an endorsement. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies are handled and how to opt out.

Availability

We make no promise that the site will always be available. It may be taken down, changed, or have tools added or removed at any time without notice.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current version always lives at this URL with its “last updated” date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
